Irene and Rachel's Experiences at
      Technology Connection '97

The week of July 13 thru July 18, 1997 was a REAL, interesting, exciting, and fun experience!  We would like to share some of our hilarious times that occured during the evening events.  As well as the day time "classes" that we took. Lets begin!

              Evening Events
    FOOD:
We are not here to trash out the food that they fed us, but it could have been much, much, much, much, much, ( you get it) better.  So, to find an escape to eating chicken patty for the 40th time that week, we ordered pizza from Dominoes.  That EXPLODED in our faces.
Ok, so we order the pizza at 8:20, and the people tell us that it will be here in 30 minutes. We wait outside the FAU dorms for an hour and a half. No pizza. So we call back and they say, " When you order from FAU  we call back right before the delivery dude leaves to tell you to wait outside for him. We called but no one answered the phone." They said the pizza would get there in about 2 minutes, so, again ,we wait. The guy shows up, will not give us a discount for being late, and will not give us our change. It was a 1 little nickel for change and drives off with the nickel and gives us a big attitude. Then after all that we go to eat the pizza and a pizza was stone cold an the pepperoni was burnt, and there was hair in the pizza! Don't order from Dominoes!

SPORTS:
Volleyball was BIG at camp. Just about everyone played after dinner. We on the other hand prefered to watch from the side. They called us everthing from cheerleaders to umpires. It  was a lot of fun.

MOVIES:
Sometimes everyone would meet in a room and we would watch a movie. Usually, everyone left before it was over, but we stayed. That doesn't mean we watched it though.  It still was a blast.

LIGHTS OUT:
10:30 was supposedly lights out. Yeah right! At about 11:30 every night friends would gather in a certain room, turn out the lights and turn on the flashlights. We would sit in front of the window and  "sign" things to fellow flashlighters. This meanwhile was allowed, but we were still discreet. We would sign things like stuff that had happened that day and our group would always end up getting  yelled at for being way to loud. Oh well. The last night is promised to be the best possible.

Now, everyone knew where everyone else's windows were. So, window knockers would emerge after flashlight games and basically freaked everyone in our group out. We tried everything to stop it but kids will be kids.

            Daylight Hours

We did lots of stuff during the day.  Like build a siren, build a Scooter Bug, and drilled our initials into a piece of wood. We also did a presentation on transportation, and made this web page.  It was fun. Especially the field trip to the Museum of Discovery and Science.
We learned a lot of important things on this trip. We both agreed to come again next year for the high school session.  Good Bye now!!
