Retha D. Palmer
WELCOME! I am Retha Denise Palmer, proud to present my world to
you.
What
I Do
I am currently learning how to create a homepage at the Department of
Computer Science and Engineering at Florida Atlantic University. My goals
are to earn a Master's Degree in Educational Math and Science at FAU.
I am an active teacher at John
I. Leonard High School. .The things I like the most are
teaching junior and high school students to love education (especially
math), and organizing family reunions to include fun educational activities
for adults and children.
My Background
I graduated from Suncoast High School with
a 3.4 grade point average.
I attended and graduated with a Bachelor's of Science Degree from
Palm Beach Atlantic College. Majored in Mathematics and Education
specialty.
My career began two days later at Conniston Middle School as a
Cities in Schools instructor.
Currently I teach Algebra I to 9th, 10th, and 11th graders.
I also sponsor a math and science club named SECME.
At John I. Leonard our goal this year is to integrate science in
all subjects. Making science a part of the total school will create
a positive teamlike environment for all teachers, students, clubs, and
organizations. Our principal, Mr. Hugh Brady will be proud to see
the success and pride this will bring to our campus.
My Interests
I love meeting new people, spending quality time with my family,
sponsoring math and science clubs for kids, spending all my summers learning
of new experiences with or for kids,
going on vacations and praising the Lord. I enjoy swimming,
dancing, talking on the telephone, and surfing the web on TV.
Being a resourceful and loving member of my family is most important
to me. I love being a positive example to my sister, brothers, nieces,
nephews, cousins and important others.
I especially love creating exciting situations for my own family:
Charles Palmer, Sr.
Charles "CJ" Palmer, Jr., and Camisha "Cami" Le Che Palmer.
My most recent summer experiences were Secme Summer Institute in
Virginia and Technology Connections at
FAU in Boca Raton, Florida.
