Hello! My name is Linda Gibson. I am a mathematics
teacher at Hallandale High School. I am presently participating in the
Technology Connection at FAU. Hopefully, these experiences will enable
me to learn new and innovative things to share with my colleagues and teach
my students.
My Background
I was born in
Clarendon County, South Carolina . If you do not recognize the name, check
your history books.
Look for the
Brown vs. Board of Education cases tried by Thurgood Marshall. It
was one of the cases that helped determine the Supreme Court decision.
The student's name was Briggs. This is also where the movie "Separate
But Equal" was set
If you haven't
gathered by now, I grew up in the country!!! I lived
with both my parents and two brothers. I am a middle child and only
girl. (no, I'm not spoiled!!) I graduated from Manchester High
School in Pinewood, SC. I attended Benedict College in Columbia, SC where
I majored in mathematics and minored in physics..
My Interests
I enjoy dancing and traveling. Time does not allow
me to do much of either lately. I love the Smoky Mountains in NC and TN.
I would love to go back to Gatlinburg and San Francisco.
My Personal Records
I have three daughters, ages 20, 14 & 13. The
eldest is a senior at FAMU with a major in Bio-premed.
The middle is a 9th grader at Nova High, and the youngest is a
8th grader at Nova Middle. They are both attending Summer Science
Institute for six weeks. My husband and I will be celebrating our
23rd anniversary on July 3rd. We also have a nine year old german
shepherd named Rocky, and a four year old charcoal grey cat named Georgie.
